CAF applauds the Alzheimer's Foundation report calling for increased federal investment in aging research
As aging baby boomers are reaching the age of risk for Alzheimer's, the federal funding for research on aging diseases has been sorely inadequate, and it's time for the government to increased investment in research to better treat, prevent and cure diseases such as Alzheimer's, according to a new report released by the Alzheimer's Foundation of America (AFA).
Progress for Alzheimer's in Washington
In September, Cure Alzheimer’s Fund representatives were invited by the White House to be panelists at a briefing on Alzheimer’s disease. At the White House Briefing on the Challenge of Alzheimer’s Disease in the United States, Tim Armour and Rudy Tanzi made presentations regarding the current state of Alzheimer’s research to senior members of the White House, Department of Health and Human Services, National Institutes of Health and representatives of many Alzheimer’s advocacy groups.
Senior Vice President Sally Rosenfield Joins Women Against Alzheimer’s Network
WASHINGTON –Joining as the newest member of the Founding Board for the Women Against Alzheimer’s Network is Senior Vice President of Cure Alzheimer’s Fund, Sally Rosenfield.
Bringing together women from across the country who are leading the way in Alzheimer’s research, the Women Against Alzheimer’s Founding Network focuses on “harness[ing] the power of women” to build an “aggressive plan to prevent and treat Alzheimer’s disease.”
Cure Alzheimer’s Fund’s Response to NAPA

CAF Applauds Efforts of Rep. Markey & Sen. Mikulski to Increase Funding for Alzheimer’s Research
Congressman Ed Markey (D-MA) and Senator Barbara Mikulski (D-MD) have introduced resolutions urging the United States Postal Service to issue a stamp to fund Alzheimer’s disease research at the National Institutes of Health. The “semipostal” stamp would have its proceeds specifically directed for additional Alzheimer’s disease research through the NIH.
